Youth Ministries
Staff and Roles Youth Pastor The Youth Pastor oversees all ministries, budgets and programs relating to students grades six through twelve; provides leadership development for lay staff; conducts personal visitation and outreach ministry to local public high schools; directs nursing home ministry and Youth development Center outreach; maintains records and statistics on all youth and parents; directs youth choirs, ensembles and drama troupe; provides crisis counseling and pastoral care to youth and parents; and supervises use of church bus. Reports to the associate pastor. Program Information
Sunday School Both Jr. High and Sr. High classes are offered weekly providing opportunities for Biblical instruction, discussion, group-building interaction and creative teaching styles fir each level. Music Program Youth Choir (junior and senior high), and Youth Ensemble. The youth choir and drama troupe conduct an annual choir tour and special outreaches to the community. Drama Ministry The youth drama troupe rehearse weekly and ministers periodically in worship services, special outreaches and in conjunction with the youth choir. Social Events A wide variety of social activities are provided for our Jr. High and Sr. High School ministry. Monthly outings, parties, lock-ins, seminars and a wide assortment of other activities are regularly offered. Summer Camps A week long summer camp is available for all our youth. The camps focus on spiritual renewal, recreation an social development. Missions The youth conducts a monthly nursing ministry, various world missions projects, work camps, planned famines to raise funds for world hunger victims and weekly Compassion Project offering. Youth Retreats Retreats are scheduled seasonally involving three days of spiritual renewal and social involvement. Retreats include: winter retreat (New Year's weekend), Ski retreat, and others as planned. Recreational Programs Softball and basketball programs are offered for young people. Seminars Periodically, seminars are offered to assist youth in dealing with contemporary issues, such as music and media evaluation, sexuality and dating, parent/teen relationships, etc. Parent Meetings Periodically, these meetings are conducted by the director of youth ministries to share ideas, plans and calendar events and to interact regarding parent /teen issues. Newsletters Monthly newsletters for the youth ministry and parents of youth are pending publication. Nursing Home Outreach Monthly Sunday afternoon services, concerts, dramatical productions and regular visitations focus on meeting the spiritual need of the residents. |
